A bridge is used to literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. The anchoring teeth are known as abutment teeth and can be two or more in number. The false teeth, also called pontics, are made up of either alloy, porcelain, gold or a combination of these materials. These dental bridges are supported by the natural teeth or implants.
